Of the ten songs here, the only thing that really breaks on through is Otis Redding performing his own "These Arms of Mine. It has that something extra missing from his earlier jaunts and Seger 's track. Swayze closes things out with another big '80s David Kershenbaum sound on "Cliff's Edge," a tune he actually co-wrote. Surprisingly, it's not a bad song and features -- believe it or not -- the album's best hook. When Patrick Swayze writes the best hook on an album you're on, it's pretty obvious that Road House was just another gig.

The latter of the 2 was co-written by Swayze. Over-all it's a great soundtrack. And it's worth the price for the Patrick Swayze songs alone! Personal entertainment.
The sound track is ok. There are a few songs missing from the movie :- other than that it's good. Love the music. I can't believe all the songs that are missing from this album! Ten songs, that's it!
Someone in that company needs to get it together and create a sequel or something! What a disappointment! See all reviews. Only 8 left in stock more on the way. John Cafferty. Register a free business account.

Wish they would protect these a little better. Thankfully the cd was not damaged. One person found this helpful. Great music soundtrack from a classic movie, one artist on soundtrack Jeff Healy a blind quitarist with amazing talent. Great Blues Artist! Plays a right handed electric guitar on his lap. Scott Top Contributor: Country Music. Where are the rest of the songs from the movie? So disappointing.
And it's a short CD for being a soundtrack. They could have easily put all the songs on this CD and then it would be a must have - I can only say it's a "no need to buy" CD unless you can get it for pennies. Some really good tunes. I've purchased it three times and had to return each one two from Amazon, one from a local store because the vinyl was badly warped.
Allan Rayman is hugely underrated. His songwriting and vocal abilities recall Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain and many other legendary artists. His voice is filled with pain and rawness that is hugely missing from today's artists.
LP format: sounds good to me. Yes, that is a compliment. Roadhouse, sounds off on his self-possession: a self-containment as self-preservation and exile as far away from Main Street as possible.
Somewhere in the woods of Toronto, to be inexact. While not cardinal sins, there is the opening multiple veins to exorcise his faults, selfishness, strengths, fears and love all from the safety of his shadows of choice. Diametrically opposed though it all may be, Rayman manages to craft absurdly elegant yes, elegant mind trips of song. Feel for him. Counters to the weight of his world is the presence of Adria Kain and Jessie Reyez tasked with providing feminine echoes of the past perhaps future : a scream, a conversation, gunshots.
Some things really are best left to the imagination. Rayman runs quite hot, just in an alternate emotional direction. As reviewed on High Voltage Magazine.

The CD is infused with a mix of sounds from track to track. I highly recommended this CD, for anyone who enjoy originality, as well as a modern take on soulful sounds.
Report abuse. Bought the CD because I heard one song on the radio. Turns out that was the only good song on the CD.The Road House film and its subsequent companion long-player came a year after John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown Band released their album of the same name, so maybe it was an intentional Arista marketing attempt to get some of that Eddie and the Cruisers luster by way of Dirty Dancing, or maybe this was just the expected image of the s.
