You'll be suprised, it was and pleasently so. I'm not going into the kind of music it is as it's just Alanis at her best. Enough said. If your a huge Alan's fan you will enjoy iy. Frankly, I'd be disappointed if a singer kept producing the same style, the same sound, and the same lyrics for three years, it gets old. They're some of my favorites on the album. And after listening to the songs, all the way through, Not just the 30 second previews there are others on here that I find I like just as much. The same can be said of "Limbo No More". And lastly, "On the Tequila" is just a fun song.

It's not my favorite, but I can't listen to this song and not smile. It's just funny. Even though I do like some songs on here better than others, I don't hate any of them.

I can see myself enjoying this CD for a long time. And I have no problems recommending Flavors of Entanglement to others. In fact, if you like this album, you'll probably like CD's by Imogen Heap. This album of Alanis's reminds me a great deal of her at times.

With all of the artists from bygone days that have been releasing new material this year Cyndi Lauper, Donna Summer, B's, REM - the list goes on , this newest album from Alanis Morissette has got to be the best release of them all.

The angst is still there, but more tempered, with several gorgeous ballads to even it all out. If you purchase this album - by all means, get the Bonus Tracks edition. I can honestly say that I love every song on this album, but by far "In Praise of the Vulnerable Man" has got to be my favorite - it's simply beautiful.

But, it's a song that really shines on its own, and helps tie Alanis' current music to her unique style that she made so famous with her previous work.

It's such an emotional song with lyrics that ring so true for anyone that has been through a breakup. Alanis can really sing a ballad with beauty and grace, which some may find hard to believe.

She has a few of them on her newest album, including "Torch", another heart wrenching song, "Tapes", "Madness", and "Limbo No More". They are all stunning songs full of emotion and heartfelt sentiments. They are all welcome changes for this fact and once again, not a bad song in the bunch. Honestly, there is not a single song on this album that I don't like.

Alanis has done a really good job of putting together a new album that is overflowing with many flavors - all quite deserving of a listen or taste , over and over again. I am overjoyed that she has put together such a wonderful collection of new songs. December 22, , pg. Rolling Stone. January 13, TV Guide. October 31, The Ottawa Citizen.
